Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service- Aboriginal Corporation (TAMS-AC) is recruiting to an Aboriginal Tobacco, Alcohol and other Drugs Worker for the Tamworth and surrounding area.
About us
TAMS-AC is the leading provider of a comprehensive range of culturally appropriate primary healthcare services to enhance the health and emotional well-being of the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community of Tamworth and surrounding districts. TAMS-AC is an Aboriginal community-controlled health service on the land of the Gomeroi people, based in Tamworth NSW. TAMS-AC has successfully delivered culturally appropriate primary healthcare services for First Nations People for close to 30 years. In addition to primary healthcare and day to day health services provided by a large multidisciplinary team, TAMS-AC coordinates access to a range of visiting specialist services and community programs.
Qualifications & experience
- a) At a minimum, AOD workers must have completed/working towards a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs
- b) Other relevant qualifications including Certificate III in Community Services
- c) Have a connection to the Aboriginal community of Tamworth LGA
Tasks & responsibilities
- This position gives you the opportunity to provide support in community as part of a bigger AOD team. Within this position you would be expected to deliver high quality culturally safe individual case management and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are touched by alcohol and/or other drugs
